It is our pleasure to invite you to a training programme on BASEL I, II & III and the Internal Capital Adequacy Process (ICAAP) which will be conducted by the Zambia Institute of Banking & Financial Services (ZIBFS) in conjunction with the Bank of Zambia, from 15TH to 16TH August 2019 at Cresta Golfview Hotel, Great East Road, Lusaka.
The training program will help participants appreciate the Basel Committee which is the global standard-setting body on banking regulations that also aims to improve risk management and governance as well as strengthen banks transparency and disclosures. This is achieved through establishing rules to make sure that financial service providers (FSPs) hold adequate capital to ensure a safe and sound financial sector that can withstand unforeseen difficulties.

The training fee covers training materials, lunches, refreshments and certification of participation by the Bank of Zambia and the ZIBFS. All FSPs are encouraged to participate in this important training. (logistics & accommodation NOT Covered)VENUE: Cresta Golview Hotel, Great East Road, Lusaka
The program will commence with Basel I and then progress to Basel II & III respectively, in order to give participants a seamless transition from the basics to the complex. Further, it will help participants who might be meeting this course for the first time to understand the transition from Basel I to the current Basel III. To this end, you are encouraged to include new staff on the program as it will provide a good baseline.
Kindly note that the training attracts a fee of K3,400 per participant intended to cover training materials, lunches, refreshments and certification of participation by the Bank of Zambia and the ZIBFS. All FSPs are encouraged to participate in this important training.
The registration fees must be paid directly to ZIBFS by 31st July, 2019. Please note that places are limited and registration is therefore on a first-come first-serve basis. Detailed logistical information and agenda will be sent to the participants closer to the event.
