Further, the Institute is also engaged in a number of activities to enhance information sharing in the financial sector. The institute successfully held its 17th Graduation Ceremony on 17th February 2018 under the theme, "Financial Education- the key to Economic Development." The Institute remains very grateful to Dr. Tukiya Kankasa Mabula, Deputy Governor-Administration, Bank of Zambia, who graced the event as Guest of Honour. Thanks are also extended to all sponsors and invited guests who found time to be part of this well-attended event. The Annual Ball was successfully held on 16th March 2018 under the theme “Financial Inclusion in the Digital Economy”. Again the Institute remains very grateful to Hon. Margaret Mwanakatwe-Minister of Finance, who graced the event as Guest of Honour. The Annual Ball was well attended.
The Institute and the Financial Sector Deepening Zambia (FSDZ) held a successful Handover Ceremony of the SME Executive Diploma in Relationship Management on 29th March 2018. The handover of the SME Diploma programme is very significant to both the ZIBFS and the FSDZ, because it signifies a very successful collaboration between the two institutions since 2015, and one which will be a stepping stone for many other similar projects going forward. It also signifies the hard work of both the FSDZ and the ZIBFS in ensuring that this important Executive Diploma in SME Relationship Management is embedded into Institute programmes for the benefit of the financial sector. The event was attended by some Institute Council representatives, FSDZ and Institute officials, Bank of Zambia representative, former graduates on the programme, and other representatives from the industry.
The Institute actively participated in conducting the 2nd series of the training on Movable Asset Based Lending training for the financial sector which was held from 16th -17th April 2018 at Bank of Zambia, Ndola regional offices. This training was held in collaboration with the World Bank Group, Bank of Zambia and PACRA, and it was a build-up on the trainings held in 2017 which proceeded the Collateral Registry launch that was held on 17th November 2017
Members are also welcome to physically visit the Institute’s well stocked reference library. Students and bank employees have all found this library as a useful source of information. The Institute is also open to receiving any suggestions that may help improve its services to its members. It is the Institute’s hope that you find this website interesting and useful, and that you will access this website on a regular basis to enable you keep up to date with Institute activities and examination timetables.
