As you may be aware, the Bank of Zambia, in collaboration with the World Bank Group (WBG) and the Patents and Companies Registration Agency (PACRA) has made significant progress in developing an enhanced framework for secured transactions involving movable property. This culminated in the establishment and launch of the Movable Property Security Registry house at PACRA. As a way of continuously enhancing the capacity of financial service providers to utilise the new secured transaction framework, capacity building training sessions have been an essential component of this initiative.
This training builds on very successful initial trainings for FIs in Lusaka in May and November 2017 that preceded the launch of the Movable Property Registry System on 17th November 2017. The organizers have received overwhelming requests to deliver similar trainings in other parts of the country. The training is focused on seasoned credit, operational, and legal officers and will share the best practices of movable asset based lending including exploring potential opportunities that might exist on the Zambian market. The training will show participants how to apply the Movable Property Security Interest Act (MPSI) to expand commercial lending while managing the risk. The format of the training will be very interactive including covering case studies relevant for the local financial markets.
Kindly note that this training fee is highly subsidized registration fee of K1200 per participant, which will also cover training materials, certification of participation, lunches and refreshments. The registration fees must be paid directly to ZIBFS by 31st March 2018. Participants need to make their own logistics and accommodation arrangements. There are limited places available and registration is on first-come first served basis. Detailed logistical information and agenda will be sent to the participant closer to the event.
This excellent training will be leveraged for the benefit of the financial sector and Zambian economy.
